Home OfficeAlright, I won’t deny it any longer. We’re parents and we work out of our home. Nine months out of the year, this is really no different than having an office elsewhere as we are very focused and (usually) know how to shut down when the work day is done. During the summer months however, it’s a different story. If you wear similar shoes, today we’re happy to provide you with several tips for work at home parents.

When Life Hands You Lemons

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying at least once before: “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!” Perhaps you or someone you know has gone through an unexpected divorce or lost a job or two. But when you have been handed lemons, have YOU made lemonade? Dave and I sure have!

It is so easy to get wrapped up in the negativity of what is going on in your life when, and please pardon my mouth, the shit hits the fan. Your life was coasting along relatively smoothly until, “BAM!” Your life tire pops on the interstate and you have no idea where to turn off. Worse yet, the road is closed up ahead. What are you going to do?

Marketing That Makes Sense

Marketing-That-Makes-SenseAt a recent family barbecue, we noticed our brother-in-law was wearing branded attire for his fire protection business. A nice polo shirt and hat proudly showed off the company logo and for a moment I thought it would be awesome to have branded attire for our business. Then it occurred to me – for us, this wouldn’t be marketing that makes sense.

Business owners should constantly be evaluating their marketing budget and the way(s) in which they are spending their funds. For example, a local coffee shop would probably benefit more from an advertisement in the local high school football team’s program than they would if spending the same amount of money on Google ads with no geographic targeting.
